Dr. Katey Yeowart
General Practitioner
As a GP, I’m deeply passionate about providing fair, compassionate, and high‑quality care to people of all ages and stages of life. One of the greatest privileges of my work is supporting individuals and whānau from the very beginning—through childhood, adulthood, and into end‑of‑life care. That continuity, trust, and shared journey is at the heart of why I love what I do.
Equity in healthcare is a core value for me. Everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and heard when seeking medical support. I am committed to ensuring that people of all genders, sexualities, cultures, races, and ages can access care that meets their needs without judgement or barriers. Creating a space where people feel comfortable being themselves is essential to delivering truly effective healthcare.
My approach is grounded in kindness, curiosity, and collaboration. I believe in working alongside patients, empowering them with information, and supporting them to make decisions that align with their goals and values. Whether it’s routine care, managing long‑term conditions, or navigating life’s more challenging moments, I’m here to provide thoughtful, inclusive, and continuous support.
I’m passionate about general practice and believe myself to be a true generalist. I enjoy getting to know multiple generations of the same family and feel truly privileged to be able to be involved in health care for people from birth until the end of life. I am passionate about working with more marginalised groups such as the LGBTQIA+ community.
Outside of work I enjoy CrossFit, family time and exploring our beautiful back yard.
Thanks!
Katey
